Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining programs.
- Assist in supervising culinary staff alongside the Culinary Director.
- Support the preparation and execution of dining enhancement programs.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and food storage areas.
- Handle opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
- Follow cleaning schedules as assigned.
- Ensure food is received, stored, and prepared according to standards.
- Estimate and communicate food and supply needs.
- Assist in preparing and cooking meals per recipes and menus.
- Monitor food temperatures before service and in refrigeration/freezers.
- Ensure snacks and beverages are available for residents.
- Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied.
- Assist with food transportation and storage.
- Support special events, banquets, and themed meals.
Qualifications:
- Ability to build positive relationships with staff and residents.
- Focus on providing excellent customer service and multitasking skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, and schedules.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-3 years cooking experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.
- Serve Safe Certification required.
- Physical demands include dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, ability to lift at least 15 lbs., and perform various physical movements.
