Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining programs.
  • Assist in supervising culinary staff alongside the Culinary Director.
  • Support the preparation and execution of dining enhancement programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Handle opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
  • Follow cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Ensure food is received, stored, and prepared according to standards.
  • Estimate and communicate food and supply needs.
  • Assist in preparing and cooking meals per recipes and menus.
  • Monitor food temperatures before service and in refrigeration/freezers.
  • Ensure snacks and beverages are available for residents.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied.
  • Assist with food transportation and storage.
  • Support special events, banquets, and themed meals.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff and residents.
  • Focus on providing excellent customer service and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, and schedules.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-3 years cooking experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.
  • Serve Safe Certification required.
  • Physical demands include dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, ability to lift at least 15 lbs., and perform various physical movements.
