Job summary

Barchester is seeking a passionate Bank Chef to join our care homes, delivering fresh, seasonal menus with balance and nutrition in mind. This casual, part-time role offers flexible hours, work-life balance and the chance to contribute to high standards without long shifts.

You will support the Head Chef and help create nutritious, flavoursome dishes tailored for residents. In this role you will manage stock, budgets and audits, lead a warm kitchen team, and foster a welcoming, resident-focused

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and inspire a team
• Understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements
• Experience with fresh seasonal produce
• Ability to create a welcoming, resident-focused kitchen
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality dishes
• Lead and motivate a kitchen team

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP
