Sandmere Care Home in Margate, Kent, is seeking a Chef to deliver high quality, nutritious meals that support residents’ wellbeing. You will take ownership of food preparation and service, tailoring to dietary needs while maintaining hygiene and presentation standards.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning and kitchen organisation. This role offers a consistent day pattern with no late evenings or split shifts, and ongoing training opportunities.

Job description

A purpose-built care home located in the heart of the Margate community in Kent. Our 68-bed luxury service provides exceptional levels of Residential Care, Nursing Care, Dementia Care, and Respite Care

Chef Contract

• £15.60 per hour
• Contracted to 20 hours per week - 9.00am - 1.00pm 5x days per week, alternate weekends
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

What We Are Looking For

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
