Job summary

Eataly North America is seeking a Cheesemonger to join our cheese department. You will assist guests, share knowledge about cheeses and meats, weigh and package products, and keep the counter well merchandised and clean.

Flexibility to work weekends is required, and you will handle scales, packaging machinery and a cash register. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with strong communication and knife skills as a plus.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand/move for up to 8 hours including bending and squatting.
• Ability to use scales, packaging machinery and a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products.
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation.
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators are neat and accurate as per pricing.
• Merchandises displays and rotates products per FIFO standards.
• Cleans work station thoroughly.
• Performs other duties as required.

A Cheesemonger prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Cheesemonger has passion for cheese and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Salummi and Formaggi Lead.

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
