Job summary

Gossner Foods, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Plant Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment in a food-processing environment. You will respond to maintenance requests, complete preventive tasks, and identify issues before downtime occurs.

The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting, independent work, and experience with industrial or food-processing equipment. Welding, fabrication, and PLC/robotic knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repair experience preferred.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read & understand equipment electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotic programming preferred.

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to established checklists and procedures.
  • Conduct routine visual inspections of packaging equipment.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work when qualified and needed.
  • Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, GMPs, and food-safety policies.

Cheese Plant Packaging - Maintenance Technician
Position Summary

The Packaging Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment. This position supports safe, reliable, and efficient packaging operations by responding promptly to maintenance requests, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and identifying potential equipment issues before they result in downtime. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, works well independently, and has experience repairing industrial or food-processing equipment. Electrical, welding, and fabrication experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas as required.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.

Day Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Some Fridays may be required, and hours may vary.
