Togetherhood in Washington, DC is seeking enthusiastic Cheerleading instructors to teach K-12 students through after-school programs. You will be matched with opportunities spanning 6 to 18 weeks across schools and communities, paid per class or per student, under a contracted 1099 arrangement.

The role involves developing age-appropriate curricula, leading weekly in-person classes, and fostering a fun, structured, inclusive classroom where students of all skill levels can grow and stay engaged.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Cheerleading to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across DC. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

• As an after school instructor, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
• Develop age-appropriate Cheerleading curriculum for after-school students
• Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise
• Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged
• Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels

Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

• Has subject matter expertise in Cheerleading
• Has a passion and skill for building hands‑on projects with kids
• Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
• Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach
• Is cooperative, supportive, flexible
• Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations

$90 - $120 an hour

Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.

What to Expect

• Candidates advancing from screenings will have a second video interview, in which we will ask you to share a sample lesson plan
• The final step of the process is onboarding into our platform, ready to accept classes!
