Job summary

Wa-Nee Community Schools seeks a head coach to lead a high school sports program, focusing on skill development, team strategy and student-athlete growth. The role emphasizes integrity, discipline, and positive leadership.

The coach will supervise staff, coordinate with the athletic director and principals, and upgrade knowledge through clinics and observation while promoting good sportsmanship and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continue to examine new theories and procedures.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the athletic director for objectives and final evaluation.
• Supervises staff of high school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and principals.
• Instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training for team and individual success.
• Mentors student athletes to develop character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility and citizenship.
• Participates in budgeting, equipment management and inventory for the sport program.
• Organizes public relations efforts to promote the sport within and outside the school.
