Job summary

Agropur, inc. in Wisconsin is hiring a Cheddar Operator I to start at $24.73 per hour. The role runs on a 3 AM–3 PM schedule with opportunities for pay increases and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No experience required; in-house training provided.
• Lift Truck License required; in-house training provided.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Basic computer skills to input and retrieve information.
• Basic math skills (add/sub/mul/div).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow simple verbal and written instructions; maintain professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Set up area for daily production.
• Make boxes, fill, and drain according to specifications.
• Prepare boxes, vacuum chamber operations, and record data.
• Pull boxes from vacuum chambers and move to seal line.
• Prepare box cards for sealed boxes and place in pre-cooler.
• Assist Cheddar employees as needed.
• Clean the 640 room after production and stock supplies for next day.
• Keep area clean and organized at all times.
• Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards.

Your key responsibilities:

• Set up area for daily production.
• Make boxes, fill, and drain according to specifications.
• Prepare boxes and place into vacuum chamber. Operate vacuum chambers and record information according to specifications.
• Pull boxes from vacuum chambers and hang on the rail for the specified time, then move to the seal line for final sealing.
• Prepare box cards for sealed boxes per make (recipe), and place box of cheese into the pre-cooler.
• Assist all Cheddar employees as needed.
• Clean-up entire 640 room after daily production and prepare supplies for the next day.
• Keep area clean and organized at all times.
• Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Safety Protocol
• Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
• Support safety policies and programs.

The individual who will own this role:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No experience necessary; in-house training provided.
• Lift Truck License required: in-house training provided.

• Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow one- or two-step verbal instructions; read and follow written instructions; perform routine and repetitive tasks and carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or verbal instructions.
• Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
