Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build and scale groundbreaking checkout experiences. You will work on the Core Shopping team to craft new products and services from scratch, balancing ambiguity with rapid development cycles measured in weeks.

The role requires strong software development experience across multi-tier architectures and distributed systems.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
Deliver customer value in an iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems goals.
Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
