Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a checker to provide friendly, courteous service to customers in-store. The role includes greeting customers, accurately processing purchases, handling various payment methods, and maintaining register records. Training will be provided at store level.

Responsibilities include manufacturing coupon processing, produce item knowledge, and ensuring proper cash security. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply, with preference for long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Internal Candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Greet customers prior to checking their order
• Check out customer's purchases accurately
• Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
• Process manufacturer coupons
• Collect correct amount due from customer
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
• Complete register record accurately
• Bag customer orders
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management
