Job summary

ProAct, Inc. in Malone, NY is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented cashier to ring up customer purchases at the POS and ensure accurate, courteous service.

You will handle cash, checks, and card payments, provide correct change, and close out the register per procedure at the end of each shift. Responsibilities include restocking, maintaining store cleanliness, assisting customers with large purchases, answering phones, and supporting merchandising and inventory tasks around the checkout area.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 0-1 years previous experience in related position.
• Drug test
• Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring
• Any and all additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position

Responsibilities

• Scan and ring out customer purchases at the POS, handling cash, checks and card payments.
• Provide correct change to customers.
• Close out the register per procedure at end of shift.
• Request assistance to maintain service levels.
• Assist customers with large purchases and carry items to their vehicles.
• Restock shelves from in-store and incoming orders.
• Keep checkout area clean and professional.
• Maintain restrooms, break rooms, backrooms and entryways daily.
• Replenish register supplies as needed.
• Answer phones politely and maintain service levels.
• Support inventory, pricing and merchandising around checkout.
• Respond to suspected shoplifting per policy.
• Assist in Kinney merchandising standards.
• Assist with ordering replacement products.
• Identify and return outdated/overstocked merchandise.
• Package items for home/business delivery.
• Complete all required training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
