Job summary

El Super in Reno, NV is hiring a Checker at store #67. Starting rate $17.00 per hour. Under direct supervision, the Checker handles cash register operations, provides friendly customer service, and helps maintain a fast, accurate checkout.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, read and follow labels, and communicate clearly. This position is part of El Super’s Store Operations Team and offers opportunities to learn retail basics and grow with the Chedraui USA family.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags and memos.
• Write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers.
• Follow written or oral instructions with basic understanding.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
