Job summary

El Super #51 in San Diego is hiring a Checker to join our Store Operations Team. Under direct supervision, you will help maintain excellent customer service, process sales accurately and efficiently, and operate the cash register while safeguarding assets.

This role is open to ages 16-17 with a starting rate of 17.75 USD per hour. You should be able to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods in a fast-paced grocery environment.

• Write simple correspondence
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
• Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
