Job summary

El Super stores are seeking a Checker for Panorama City to join the Store Operations Team. You will handle cashier duties, assist customers, and help maintain a fast, accurate checkout experience in a busy grocery setting.

Under direct supervision, you will support front-end operations, protect company assets, and work in a fast-paced environment while lifting up to 60 pounds as required.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to follow detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
