Job summary

Rosauers Supermarkets, Inc. in Yakima, WA is seeking a friendly Checker to greet customers, assist them locating items, and ensure accurate pricing at the register. You’ll process cash and card payments, scan items, issue receipts, and help keep the checkout area neat and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet customers when entering or leaving the store
• Answer customer questions, help them locate items, and provide recommendations
• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
• Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
• Collect payments whether in cash or credit
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
• Bag or wrap purchases to ensure safe transport
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
• Perform other duties as assigned
