Job summary

Rosauers Supermarkets is seeking a friendly Checker to greet customers and handle transactions at the checkout with accuracy and care.

You will assist customers, answer questions, scan items, process payments, and maintain a clean, efficient checkout area while promoting a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
• Answer customer questions, help them locate items, and provide recommendations.
• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
• Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
• Collect payments whether in cash or credit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets.
• Redeem stamps and coupons.
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies.
• Bag or wrap purchases to ensure safe transport.
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
