Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Chechen Linguist to translate reports and texts, perform interpretation, and transcribe audio materials. The role requires handling diverse materials, understanding regional dialects, and delivering precise language work in English and target languages.

Applicants should have a BA/BS (or equivalent) with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 2–6 years. A language test is required; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph may be sponsored after testing.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and/or equivalent formal military training with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 2–6 years.
• All candidates must pass a language test administered by Leidos or a vendor.
• Experience deployed as a linguist in contingency operations is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, or law enforcement experience is an asset.
• Strong written and oral communication in target language and English.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard‑copy formats, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Identify geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text and use appropriate target‑language norms.
• Provide consecutive interpretation; simultaneous interpretation may be requested on rare occasions.
• Maintain a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.
• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Prepare reports and documentation in English with excellent written communication skills.
• Meet the requirement for a fully adjudicated TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; sponsor clearance will be provided post‑test.
• Support short TDYs with travel both OCONUS and CONUS; be available 24/7 while on travel.

Pay Range: $73,450.00 – $132,775.00.
