Job summary

Maintainer Corporation of Iowa, Inc. is seeking a Chassis Prep Technician in Sheldon, IA to prepare truck chassis for body installation.

You will perform electrical modifications, install PTO systems and related components, and drill chassis frames to prepare mounting hardware according to work orders and safety standards. Typical duties include wiring harness routing, cab modifications, testing circuits, measuring locations, and ensuring quality before release.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read work orders, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Can measure and lay out drilling locations.
• Familiarity with drilling, fastening, mounting hardware and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to identify problems and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Able to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to learn electrical, PTO and hydraulic systems; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Install and route wiring harnesses to diagrams and guidelines.
• Perform cab modifications such as switch panels and control mounts.
• Test circuits and confirm component operation.
• Install PTO units and hydraulic components per specs.
• Drill frame rails and install mounting hardware.
• Relocate chassis components as required by work orders.
• Ensure work meets quality standards before release.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Keep tools and work area clean.
• Other duties as assigned.
