Job summary

Maintainer Corporation of Iowa, Inc. seeks a Chassis Prep Technician to prepare truck chassis for utility body installations.

You will perform electrical and cab modifications, install PTO systems, and drill and prep frames to meet work orders and specifications in a production setting with strict safety standards. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work with power tools in Sheldon, IA 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, wiring diagrams, installation instructions and technical drawings.
• Ability to measure accurately and lay out drilling locations.
• Familiarity with drilling, fastening, mounting hardware and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to identify problems and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to learn electrical, PTO and hydraulic systems; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Install and route wiring harnesses, switches, lighting and accessory circuits to wiring diagrams and guidelines.
• Make approved cab modifications and install PTO components.
• Test circuits to ensure proper function before the chassis moves on.
• Measure and lay out drill locations from drawings.
• Drill frame rails and mount hardware to required torque.
• Relocate chassis components per work orders and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
