Job summary

Freyrecruitment is seeking an experienced Chef/Stew for a 24m sailing yacht, based in Portland, Maine. The role starts in November or December and requires hands-on galley management, menu planning, provisioning, and delivering high-quality meals for guests and crew.

Charter experience is preferred; candidates should hold STCW, ENG1, and Food Hygiene certificates, with a Seafarer’s Discharge Book and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Previous professional chef experience, yacht/charter preferred.
• Strong provisioning and menu-planning skills.
• STCW, ENG1 and Food Hygiene certificates.
• Seafarer’s Discharge Book and fluent English.
• Non-smoker with healthy habits; excellent references.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning, provisioning and cooking for guests and crew.
• Prepare high-quality meals in a small team environment.
• Manage galley operations and assist in other yacht duties as needed.
