If you’ve ever wished your work could truly move the needle on educational equity, this is the role. We’re launching charter schools that redefine what’s possible, where students complete a full day of learning in just two hours using AI-powered instruction. But none of that happens until the charter gets approved. That’s where you come in.

You’ll lead the creation of high-stakes charter school applications that win approvals in key states. Your job is to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, align with district guidelines, and craft clear and compelling proposals that tell the story of a radically different kind of school. This isn’t an editing job. You’ll be building each application from scratch with startup speed and full ownership.

If you’re energized by building something that matters, if you don’t wait to be told what to do, and if the idea of transforming education at scale excites you, this is the work you’ve been looking for.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Writing and revising charter application sections that meet state and district requirements
  • Participating in district and state meetings to clarify expectations and align on content
  • Iterating on drafts using feedback from stakeholders and internal experts
  • Collaborating weekly with the Director of Charter Growth to prioritize deadlines and milestones
  • Resolving ambiguities and proactively identifying gaps in documentation or narratives

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Following a step-by-step playbook or making small updates to templated content
  • Waiting for instructions or external direction before moving forward
  • Operating at the slow pace of traditional education bureaucracies
  • Writing about conventional school models that follow the status quo
  • Getting sidetracked by low-impact policy work or generic grant writing

Charter School Application Strategist Key Responsibilities

Produce charter application sections that meet regulatory requirements and secure approval for new 2 Hour Learning school launches.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject
  • Experience managing a complex written deliverable of at least 100 pages over multiple months
  • Strong academic and narrative writing skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal guidance
  • Located in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Advanced degree in education, public policy, or related field
  • Background in charter school development, advocacy, or grant writing
  • Familiar with education policy in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, or Florida
