Job summary

Arizona Financial Credit Union is seeking a Card Disputes Specialist to assist cardholders with initiating disputes and to determine chargeback rights under Visa and other networks. The role involves collecting documentation and guiding the dispute process within regulatory timelines.

You will review risk, contact members, assign cases, and support chargebacks for fraudulent debit charges, while maintaining compliance with Visa rules and network regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and three years of relevant financial institution experience or one year of front-line experience with Arizona Financial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer & Outlook. Knowledge of Visa rules and network requirements, and regulations E and Z.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new internal software systems; strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Visa Resolve Online, VROL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• For disputes with chargeback rights, collect necessary documentation to allow Card and Payment Specialists to submit dispute without follow-up with member.
• Review risk and potential fraud losses; interview members who file suspicious fraud claims.
• Maintain knowledge to provide one and done service on applicable card disputes calls.
• Update the member with results if the claim is denied.
• Make outgoing calls to cardholders who submitted disputes online to ensure all steps are taken; collect documentation for non-fraud disputes.
• Assign cases to appropriate queues for chargeback processing.
• Assist in processing chargebacks for cardholders with fraudulent charges on their debit cards.
• Provide administrative support within regulation timelines (posting provisional credits, reversals, reward points, interest, notices).
• Review all represented claims from merchant banks within regulatory timelines.
• Seek clarification from member/bank and appropriate documentation to file compliance, pre-arbitration, arbitration or deny/reversal.
