Job summary

Physicians Regional Medical Center - Pine Ridge is seeking an experienced RN Charge for the Surgical ICU on the night shift (7 PM–7 AM). You will supervise nursing and support staff, coordinate care with healthcare teams, and ensure compliance with hospital policies while fostering a positive work environment for professional development.

Responsibilities include overseeing patient care plans, unit operations, and handoffs, with emphasis on infection control, safety, and quality improvement

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• RN licensure in state of practice mandatory.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing and support staff, delegating tasks to appropriate personnel.
• Evaluates staff performance with feedback and coaching to maintain care standards.
• Oversees patient care planning, implementation, and evaluation per care plans.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families and hospital departments.
• Monitors bed assignments and resource use to maximize unit efficiency.
• Leads infection prevention efforts and ensures PPE and hygiene protocols are followed.
• Responds to emergencies within the unit and provides leadership as needed.
