Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Neonatal ICU (NICU) team. This on-site, full-time night shift (7p–7:30a) requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with rotating holidays in a 64-bed NICU that uses family-centered care and advanced neonatal technology.

The role emphasizes collaboration with neonatologists, nurses, pharmacists and other specialists to support neurodevelopment and family bonding while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN license required (or Compact multi-state RN).
• At least 1 year of RN experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care within the scope of an RN, including assessment, goal setting and nursing actions to meet patient needs.
• Assess and reassess pain and symptoms using appropriate tools.
• Collaborates with neonatology, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and nutritionists to coordinate care.
• Leads daily huddles and serves as a resource for nursing staff.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and ensures infection control protocols.
