Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington is seeking a Charge RN to lead a nursing unit and oversee frontline staff in patient care within a dynamic, acute care environment in Lexington, Kentucky. You will supervise nursing personnel, assign care, and ensure efficient staffing to support high-quality outcomes.

You will guide staff performance, engage in difficult conversations when needed, and champion processes that enhance patient experience while meeting department goals and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 2 years RN experience, upon hire.
• CPR certification, upon hire.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of personnel on Nursing Units and assign patient care.
• Monitor staffing and resources to align with patient care needs.
• Communicate personnel concerns to Unit Manager and escalate as needed.
• Promote Patient Experience best practices on the unit (e.g., hourly rounding).
• Use a logical, systematic approach to problem-solving and decision making.
