Woodwork - Driver/Shop Assistant

• Driver/Helper is an all-around utility worker in our millwork division. Duties include loading, unloading trucks, driving trucks, and general help in the shop (from cleaning to helping assist machinists and cabinetmakers with their duties).

Required Skills

• Able to operate van, small trucks, and forklift.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products upon deliveries from vendors or onto our trucks for jobsite deliveries
• Responsible for moving and storing material and maintaining a neat and orderly millwork shop
• Operate tools and equipment as required.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor (Woodwork Superintendent and Operations Manager)
• Follow all safety procedures and report violations immediately to management.
• Report incidents immediately to safety director, foreman or HR in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.

Required Experience

• * Major attributes of this position are reliability, punctuality ( **must** show up on time) and professionalism; ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel to all job sites with valid driver’s license/dependable transportation.
  • 1+ years of experience in construction and/or truck driving
  • Willing and able to follow instructions from supervisors and comply with all company safety and personnel policies/protocols.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Adapts well to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hard work ethic and a willingness to learn about construction equipment and tools.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) referred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • DOT Certification and CDL preferred.
