Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin invites an experienced Charge RN to lead teams, drive clinical excellence, and shape a patient-first culture from the ground up.

This brand-new 120-bed behavioral health facility will provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services for adolescents, adults, and seniors, with plans for PHP, IOP, and ECT. Join a startup-style environment and influence care programs and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use experience a plus.
• CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certifications required.
• First aid may be required per state or facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice per regulations and policies.
• Ensure physicians' orders are legible and transcribed properly.
• Assess ongoing status and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
• Ensure admission nursing treatment plans are completed.
• Demonstrate use of universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications and document controlled substances.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
• Provide direction/coordinate unit activities.
• Communicate therapeutically with patients, visitors, co-workers.
