Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a nurse leader for 6 West Med Surg Post Surgical at UAB St Vincent's East. The role coordinates unit staffing, leads clinical teams, and ensures high-quality patient care on a night shift.

Full-time nights, 3-12 hour shifts per week, 7pm-7am, with no weekends. Requires RN license in Alabama, BLS, ACLS/PALS possibly, and 1 year experience. Join a mission-driven team at a trusted Alabama health system.

Qualifications

• Current RN license with Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS may be required in some units within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Assess daily patient care needs and distribute patient care assignments.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing and evaluating staff.
