Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking a night shift, full-time Charge Nurse for the Psychiatric Unit. You will oversee delivery of safe, quality nursing care and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding staff as a resource and mentor.

Requirements include an NJ RN license, an associate degree in nursing, and BLS within 14 days of hire; 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience and prior charge/lead experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing is required.
• Active and current New Jersey RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience; prior Charge or Lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Charge Nurse—Psychiatric Unit will oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing care and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership to staff by serving as a resource, mentor, and change agent.

Responsibilities:

The Charge Nurse—Psychiatric Unit will oversee the delivery of optimal, safe, quality nursing care and regulatory compliance while providing leadership to staff by being an effective resource, role model, mentor, and change agent.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• An associate’s degree in nursing required.
• Active and current New Jersey Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• At least 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, prior Charge or Lead nursing experience.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
