Qualifications

Charge Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Full-Time Nights at Texas Health Arlington Memorial

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 West Randol Mill Rd. Arlington, TX 76012

Work hours: Full-time Charge, Night shift, 36 hours weekly, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Here’s what you need
  1. Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  2. RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
  3. BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  4. ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  5. CPI – within 90 days of hire
  6. 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required; 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  7. 1 year of experience as an RN in ICU preferred

The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Individuals in this role will demonstrate:

  1. A commitment to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
  2. Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  3. An understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations.
  4. Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  5. Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.
  6. Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients.
  7. A strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
