Job summary

Wellpath in Colorado seeks a Charge Registered Nurse to oversee the health care delivery system in the assigned unit, including data collection, nursing diagnosis, and care planning. You will supervise patient teaching and ensure staff perform only qualified tasks, with accountability for overall quality of care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the total health care delivery system in the assigned unit, ensuring policy compliance and coordinating patient care with other departments.
  • Monitor nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems with corrective actions.
  • Assist with staff orientation, training, evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit; maintain appropriate medical equipment and supplies.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and sustain a professional atmosphere under the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

How you make a difference

The Charge Registered Nurseis responsible foroverseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Theyprovidedirect supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising the total health care delivery system in their assigned unit, ensuring compliance with policy and procedure, and coordinating patient care with other departments.

  • Monitoringnursing service,maintainaccuraterecords, andidentifypotential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.

  • Assistingwith staff orientation, training, and evaluations, andcoordinatestaffing levels to meet contractual requirements.

  • Ensuringthe cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit andmaintainappropriate levelsof medical equipment and supplies.

  • Maintaininga professional atmosphere andattendmonthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

Education
