Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania to oversee the health care delivery within the assigned nursing unit, coordinating patient care and ensuring policy compliance across departments. You will supervise staff, guide onboarding, and uphold high clinical standards in a fast-paced setting.

Principles of compassionate, collaborative care underpin the role; licensed RN in PA with CPR certification is required, with one year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment and CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the total health care delivery system in their unit, ensuring policy and procedure compliance, and coordinating patient care with other departments.
• Monitoring nursing service, maintaining accurate records, and identifying potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
• Assisting with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinating staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
• Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintaining appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
• Maintaining a professional atmosphere and attending monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

How you make a difference

The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit.
