Job summary

Wellpath in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse to oversee the health care delivery system in a nursing unit, including data collection, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

You will supervise staff, ensure policy compliance, maintain records, and coordinate with departments while upholding care quality and patient safety. RN licensure in state and CPR certification required; one year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum one-year clinical experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the total health care delivery system in the assigned unit and coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Monitor nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
• Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluations; coordinate staffing to meet contractual requirements.
• Ensure unit cleanliness, proper equipment, and supplies; maintain a professional atmosphere.
• Attend monthly staff meetings as directed by leadership.

How you make a difference

The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit.

Key Responsibilities

• S upervising the total health care delivery system in their assigned unit, ensuring compliance with policy and procedure, and coordinating patient care with other departments.
• M onitor ing nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
• A ssist ing with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
• E nsur ing the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
• M aintain ing a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience

• Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
• Current CPR Certification.
