HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a Charge Nurse Trauma Stepdown to lead a high-acuity unit, coordinating multidisciplinary care and ensuring top-quality patient outcomes. You will partner with the management team to guide clinical decisions and promote nursing excellence.

The role emphasizes collaboration, staff development, and efficient unit operations, with opportunities to influence care through hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications current or within required timeframes.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 6 months.
• RN license and appropriate nursing credentials in good standing.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course or equivalent required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, evaluate, and deliver patient-centered trauma stepdown care with the nursing team.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes to optimize throughput.
• Partner with leadership to implement best practices and improve patient outcomes.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and training to staff to boost performance.
• Assist with staff scheduling and unit operations.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit. In partnership with the management team, the CNC monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies. The CNC serves as a resource for staff and supports an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Partner with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes.
• Partner with subject matter experts and leadership team to support improved outcomes and service.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and engagement.
• Assist with staff scheduling.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Trauma Care After Resuscitatio, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
