Job description

Charge Nurse (Team Lead Nights) | RN or LPN

We need a Charge Nurse to join our team at Indianspring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cincinnati, OH. You'll assist the Nursing supervisor in the responsibility for the total patient care within the nursing unit, and the management of the unit.

$29 to $41 Per Hour - (based on LPN/RN licensure and experience)

PLUS we offer additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts!

You’ll Be Responsible For:
  1. Administrative & patient care
  2. Supervising & overseeing STNA’s
  3. Ensuring personnel, medical staff, patients & the public abide by departmental policies
  4. Working on the unit designated by the D.O.N., A.D.O.N, or Supervisor
  5. Checking 24-hour report sheet for changes/updates in patient care needs
  6. Making walking rounds, supervising N.A. care
  7. Administering medication (including IV) & treatment per Physician’s orders
  8. Attempting to meet the spiritual & psychological needs of patients with the resources available
  9. Assisting with & directing the patient admission/discharge process
  10. Giving & receiving reports with oncoming staff at the beginning & change of shift
  11. Taking and transcribing physician orders
  12. Answering telephone inquiries
  13. Evaluating patient care needs/condition while developing & adding to existing individual plans of care
  14. Handling patient admission process in the absence of the documentation nurse
  • verifying physician orders
  • transcribing pre-admission information
  • arranging diagnostic & therapeutic needs inside & outside of the facility
  • ordering medication/treatment
  • communicating patient needs to dietary
  • completing necessary admission paperwork
  • Transferring & discharging patients
    • arranging transportation
    • communicating with family/responsible party
    • completing appropriate paperwork
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation in the patient electronic medical record
  • Directing & assisting with cleaning & care of equipment/appliances
  • Communicating with all departments
  • Overall safety & cleanliness of the unit
  • Greeting & directing visitors to the unit
  • You’ll Need To Have:
    1. A valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
    2. Met the required continuing education hours per licensure period
    3. Good physical & mental health
    4. A positive attitude & a passion for working with the elderly
    5. Willingness to perform non-professional duties
    6. A level-head to take or give direction in an emergency situation
    7. Willingness to place patient needs above your own
    8. Willingness to advocate for patient wellbeing
