Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care and clinical leadership in a long-term care setting. This role coordinates nursing staff assignments, monitors outcomes, and supports care plan implementation under physician-directed guidelines.

The Charge Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality care, accurate clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance while promoting resident safety and efficient nursing operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide and oversee patient care services in accordance with nursing standards and physician-directed treatment plans.
• Observe, assess, document, and report patient conditions per clinical policies and regulations.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed when assigned.
• Receive, transcribe, execute, evaluate, and implement physician orders and patient care plans.
• Coordinate availability of equipment and supplies to support patient care delivery.
• Direct, monitor, and coordinate nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of quality patient care services.
• Document and communicate accidents, incidents, and changes in patient condition to attending physicians and family.
• Assist with staff performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary processes per policies.
• Promote safety, infection prevention, OSHA requirements, abuse prevention, and healthcare regulations.
• Support patient care management systems and serve as a team leader and role model.

This role oversees patient care activities, coordinates nursing staff assignments, monitors clinical outcomes, and promotes patient safety. The Charge Nurse (RN) collaborates with healthcare team members to support care plan implementation, clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and effective nursing operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN nursing school with a current and valid RN nursing license in the appropriate state.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely.
