Tampa General Hospital seeks an OR - Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN) in Brooksville, Florida. The role supervises staff, plans daily workflows, and manages staffing and patient care priorities in the operating room.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active RN license in Florida or a compact state, and BLS; ACLS and NIHSS certifications are also required. At least 2 years of RN experience is expected.

Supervises staff registered nurse, and other staff members. Plans work for efficiency and manages productivity of staff in day-to-day operations. Manages daily schedule staffing and call schedule. Sets priorities and delegates patient care functions so that work is equitably assigned based on competency and ability of others. Inclusive of age specific competency. Assumes responsibility for care of patients assigned closely supervises assists and/or cares for the surgical patient. Reports pertinent information to staff members, physicians, and Director. Reviews daily patient assignments, communicates with Director and recommends changes as needed. Assigns and supervises extra duty assignments to see that they are completed i.e., ensure stock orders are competed per materials management schedule; all logs are completed daily. Assigns meal and break times. Identifies and implements changes related to physical capacity, distribution of supplies and/or work performance that enhances staff efficiency and safety. Supervises staff member quality and quantity of work performed and recommended changes as needed. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Education

• Associate's Degree Nursing

License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State

• Registered Nurse

Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
