Charge Nurse-RN or LPN - $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is looking for a ChargeNurse to provide quality and compassionate care and help make animpact with our most underserved populations.

Summary: The basic function of the Charge Nurse is toprovide and facilitate all patient care activities and to ensure theyare administered in accordance with licensure standards, policy andprocedure guidelines and organizational policy. The Charge Nurse maybe a Registered Nurse (RN) or an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) withample experience.

Hours: This is a full-time position that requires theability to work a flexible schedule. General daytime hours Monday -Friday and at least one evening per week.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

• Ensure that all patients receive quality care and service in asafe manner at all times
• Maintain all records according to State Department of Health guidelines
• Ensure that staff and self documents all patient issues, vitalsand chief complaint of patient
• Ensure the automated tracking system is being performedefficiently and accurately according to policies and procedures
• Ensure that patient charts are being reviewed prior to visit toensure lab or diagnostic reports are present
• Ensure that the clinical staff and self identifies patient andprocedures needed before initiating treatment
• Perform troubleshooting and safe operation of all medical office equipment
• Assist and/or designate the appropriate clinical staff to assistthe Provider with treatments, exams, tests, etc.
• Ensure that all in-office testing such as EKG, blood glucosetesting, hemoglobin testing, and urine pregnancy testing are beinginitiated in a timely manner
• Responsible for ensuring that patient health education andprescriptions are given prior to discharge
• Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and medications,including syringe count, for designated site
• Provide necessary patient instructions and demonstrations when necessary
• Address patients & requests, ie: refills, notes, etc. in atimely manner in person or via telephone according to SJFMC policy,practice and protocol
• Perform scheduling of hours and time-off of clinical staff
• Conduct performance evaluations and performance plans for clinicalstaff with the assistance of the Director of Nursing

Experience and Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in a Charge Nurse role, 2-4 years preferred
• Valid and current NJ RN or LPN License
• Current CPR and valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certificate or diploma from an accredited medical training program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Community health experience preferred
