Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care within an assigned unit or shift. The role requires coordinating unit activities and guiding staff to deliver patient-centered care, with emphasis on outcome-driven treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN, have at least two years of OR nursing experience, and meet licensure requirements in SC or a compact state, plus current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and a minimum of two years of work experience as a registered nurse in an OR designated area of practice required.
• Attendance in the Charge Nurse Workshop and successful completion of the MUHA Charge Nurse Competency-Based Orientation within 6 months of hire required.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift.
• Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care.
• Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Identifies expected outcomes for patients' individualized treatment plan.
