Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus seeks a charge nurse to guide staff, maintain a safe environment, and optimize patient throughput on a busy unit. You will delegate assignments and supervise support staff according to training and patient acuity, in collaboration with medical providers to ensure quality patient care.

You will oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges, mentor staff, monitor charts, and liaise with doctors and administrators while enforcing health and safety

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
• Experience: 1 year of RN experience.
• Certifications: Current license to practice nursing; BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by policy.

Responsibilities

Job type: Full TimeJob Shift: RotatingThis role is responsible for providing guidance and support to staff, maintaining a safe environment, ensuring patient throughput, and directing nursing staff. The charge nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the unit, delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity. The charge nurse works, in cooperation with medical providers to insure the quality of patient care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The charge nurse oversees patient admissions, transfers and discharges, and mentors and trains new staff while providing support and guidance to all staff members.
• The charge nurse monitors medical charts and administers compassionate care and assistance to patients and families, liaises with doctors and administrators and communicates any protocol changes to staff.
• The charger nurse is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and record sand maintains accurate reports.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• EducationRequired: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
• ExperienceRequired: 1 year of RN experience.
• CertificationsRequired: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.#LI-AT1
