Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Medical Surgical unit (26 beds: Bariatrics, Ortho and Oncology) to lead a team of RNs, LPNs, CMAs and CNAs.

You will mentor staff, oversee documentation, coordinate assignments, and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, with a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.

This full-time day shift offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• BLS certification required on hire; CLS and PALS within six months.
• 3 years nursing experience; Med Surg/Telemetry preferred.

Department/Unit Summary

Join our team in a 26 room Medical Surgical Bariatrics, Ortho and Oncology unit, located on the 3rd floor, where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of RNs, LPNs, CMAs and CNAs. With a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. How you'll contribute

As a Charge Nurse you will be leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. This role includes clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordination of staff assignments based on patient needs. You will be providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Supervises nursing and support staff during assigned shifts and ensures safe, quality care.

Qualifications and requirements

• License/Education: Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required up on hire. CLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• Experience: 3 years experience required. Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred.
