Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Charge Nurse for a 26-bed Medical Surgical Bariatrics, Ortho, and Oncology unit. You’ll lead a team of RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and CNAs, ensuring safe, compliant patient care on a 7am–7pm shift.

Join a collaborative team with 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios and opportunities for mentorship, documentation oversight, and staff coordination while delivering compassionate care. A sign-on bonus and relocation support are available for full-time hires.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license and associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS certification required at hire. CLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• 3 years experience required. Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support nursing staff on assigned shifts to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Provide clinical mentorship and oversee documentation.
• Coordinate staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process according to scope and standards.

Department/Unit Summary

Join our team in a 26 room Medical Surgical Bariatrics, Ortho and Oncology unit, located on the 3rd floor, where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of RNs, LPNs, CMAs and CNAs. With a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. How you'll contribute

As a Charge Nurse you will be leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. You will be providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Supervises nursing and support staff during assigned shifts and ensures safe, quality care.

Qualifications and requirements

• License/Education: Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.


• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required up on hire. CLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.


• Experience: 3 years experience required. Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred.
