Charge Nurse (RN) - Full-time

Location: Largo, FL
Travel: Travel to our other ASC in St. Petersburg, FL may be required as needed. We do pay mileage reimbursement!

Hours:

  1. Full Time
  2. Our clinic is open Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed.
  3. No late nights, weekends or on-call shifts!

Requirements:

  1. At least 1 year of Charge Nurse/management experience is required, preferably in an Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and/or hospital.
  2. Experience managing a team of at least 20 direct reports is preferred.
  3. Must have previous Nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: Operating Room (OR), ASC, Pre-Op/Post-Op, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  4. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  5. Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  6. Current Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  7. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  8. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  9. Favorable result on Background Check.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the facility; including but not limited to coordinating breaks/lunches, daily log checks, schedules, and enforcing policies. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards. Participates in direct patient care and maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  1. Critical Thinking: Ability to supervise and direct patient care in an individual operating room. Ensures that proper techniques and practices are used in accordance to accepted standards of practice. Immediately reports any unusual occurrences to charge personnel, documents appropriately in the patient record.
  2. Interpersonal: Demonstrates a positive, friendly, courteous and professional manner. Maintains effective communication with patients, families, Physicians, and other staff. Able to work within a team.
  3. Job Knowledge/Responsibilities: Performs their duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their license as defined by the State. Maintains medical records in an accurate and legible manner.
  4. Attendance: Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences.
  5. License: Maintains and renews professional license in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to:

  1. Walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  2. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  3. Occasionally push up to an excess of 200 pounds.
  4. Occasionally pull/lift patients with the assistance of other personnel and/or assistive devices, up to an excess of 400-500 pounds.
  5. Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel and climb.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in well-lit and ventilated surroundings including operating rooms, nurse's stations, procedure rooms, lounge, etc.
