A leading health care provider in Richmond is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Adult Emergency Department. This full-time night position requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a valid RN license in Virginia. The Charge Nurse will manage unit operations, coordinate care, and ensure clinical excellence while supervising staff. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Job Description: The Charge Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for unit operational activities. Using the nursing process and clinical knowledge, this role coordinates nursing and interprofessional team members to promote clinical excellence and customer satisfaction, while optimizing resource efficiency. Adjusts schedules and patient assignments based on acuity, patient population, resources, and care design. Provides staff supervision, clinical support, and assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the nurse manager or clinical care leader.
Minimum Education: 4-year/Bachelor's Degree
Specialty/Major: Nursing – BSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire
Licensure/Certification: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
Minimum Qualifications: 18-24 months of experience demonstrating knowledge of clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment, policies & procedures, standards, systems, and equipment.
Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of management/leadership theories, teaching skills, and group dynamics. If not already a Clinical Nurse II, must submit a portfolio at the next eligible submission date.
Preferred Experience: Previous work as a charge nurse or in a supervisory role is preferred.
