A leading healthcare institution is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department. This part-time role focuses on managing nursing resources, ensuring patient safety, and facilitating patient flow, requiring both leadership skills and nursing qualifications. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in emergency nursing and relevant certifications, including ACLS and PALS.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience in the emergency department setting as a Registered Nurse.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • NH RN License is mandatory.

Job description

The Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department is a shift leader whose role includes managing nursing resources and facilitating appropriate patient flow and care. The duties of the Charge Nurse focus primarily on throughput, capacity management, and daily operations.

Promotes and maintains the philosophy, values, standards of performance and goals of the organization and the department. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and achieve desired outcomes. May function as a Registered Nurse as outlined in the Registered Nurse – Emergency Care Center job description. Facilitates patient flow through the Emergency Department and collaborates with inpatient units to coordinate admitted patient flow to the inpatient units.

Associate’s degree in nursing required, bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Five (5) years of experience in the emergency department setting as a Registered Nurse. NH RN License. ACLS, PALS. AVADE. TNCC and ENPC preferred. CEN preferred.
