Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership in our Skilled Nursing community. You will oversee nursing services, supervise caregiving teams, and ensure residents’ needs are met with professionalism and compassion.

The role requires an RN license, leadership experience in long-term care or senior living, and a commitment to high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• RN license required and clinical leadership experience.
• Experience in nursing facilities or senior living is preferred.
• Strong communication and team supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services, administration and clinical supervision on assigned shifts.
• Ensure compliance with nursing care standards and facility policies.
• Supervise and guide LPNs, CNAs and CMAs and document resident care.
• Administer medications per physician orders and maintain records.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to families and leadership.
• Perform regular rounds to ensure resident needs are met.

Your Role as the Charge Nurse (RN)

Skilled Nursing

Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and exceptional resident care within our skilled nursing community. In this role, you’ll oversee nursing services during assigned shifts, supervise caregiving teams, and ensure residents’ needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards. You’ll serve as a key clinical resource, supporting care delivery and fostering a safe, respectful environment.

Summary

The Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing clinical oversight and supervision of nursing care during assigned shifts to ensure quality outcomes and regulatory compliance. This role guides nursing staff, administers medications and treatments, completes resident assessments, and serves as a central communicator between residents, families, providers, and leadership.

This Role May Also Be Known As

Charge Nurse (RN), RN Supervisor, Floor Nurse (RN), Shift Supervisor (RN), or Registered Nurse – Charge Role.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts


• Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures


• Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs


• Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation


• Communicate changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership


• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols


• Conduct routine rounds to ensure resident needs are being met


• Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect


• Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicated to leadershipCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety

What You Bring

Licensure / Certification

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Experience & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills


• Familiarity with state and federal nursing regulations


• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living preferred

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
