Job summary

San Juan Care Center in Farmington, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to care for residents and lead nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop care plans, coordinate with physicians and therapists, and supervise staff to uphold safety standards.

The Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) provides nursing care within scope of practice to meet patient needs per standards, physician orders, and center policies in line with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active license in practicing state (LVN/LPN or RN).
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Nursing management experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient''s conditions including but not limited to nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or any other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient''s room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
