Qualifications

• Charge Nurse responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
• Must manage services and nursing responsibilities during each shift.
• Supervise nursing staff ensuring tasks are completed safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational flow of surgical cases.
• Update patient medical records with services provided.
• Supervise surgical staff and delegate shift tasks.

Skills

Excellent leadership, organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle stress and work shifts

Ability to provide guidance to nursing staff

Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements

Ability to coordinate quality assurance programs

Understanding and enforcement of safety procedures

Nursing care for Peri-Operative patients

IV Therapy skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems

Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing

Registered Nurse in the State of Texas

Three years of perioperative nursing experience

One year of nursing leadership experience

Basic Life Support certified

ACLS certified must be obtained within 60 days

PALS certified must be obtained within 60 days
