Base pay range

$58.21/hr - $90.31/hr

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse functions as a team leader, coordinating departmental operations to ensure quality, safe, patient-centered care. Demonstrates professional responsibility, clinical expertise, and leadership skills. Supports staff development and resource management, aligns with organizational values, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and organize work of nursing staff, including at least one other RN.
  • Apply hospital mission, values, and standards in daily practice.
  • Prioritize department needs and provide professional leadership.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and support staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal standards.
  • Participate in patient flow management, quality improvement, and safety initiatives.
  • Mentor and precept new staff and students.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current California RN license.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Within 30 days of hire: LA County Fire Card and Assault Response Competency.
  • Within 90 days: Chemotherapy Certification for 10th Floor.
  • Two years of RN experience in acute care, with charge/preceptor experience preferred.
