Job summary

Carson Valley Medical Center is seeking a Charge Nurse to direct and coordinate patient care on Med-Surg/ICU units. The role requires NV RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and prior supervisory nursing experience.

Night shifts with alternating Sundays and Fridays are included. The Charge Nurse will oversee staffing, enforce hospital policies, provide excellent patient care, and maintain strong communication with administration and staff.

Qualifications

• RN license in NV required.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification.
• 5 years of nursing experience with supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, hospital policies, procedures and routines; disease processes and treatment, including psychological, environmental and physical factors that influence a patient’s well-being.
• Ability to supervise the department in the provision of patient care; and provide excellent and courteous customer service and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Job description

The Charge Nurse is primarily responsible for directing and coordinating the patient care activities on the Med-Surg/ICU units. This includes assessing patient needs; and ensuring appropriate staffing and resources levels.

Full Time –Nights, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday alternating Sunday, Monday, Friday

• Possession of valid license to practice as a RN the State of NV is required
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required.
• ACLମ certification
• 5 years of experience in nursing with supervisory nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and practices; hospital policies, procedures and routines; disease processes and treatment, including psychological, environmental and physical factors that influence a patient’s well-being.
• Working knowledge of the laws and regulations governing patient care and medical center operations.
• Ability to supervise the department in the provision of patient care; and provide excellent and courteous customer service and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to establish priorities in solving unusual medical and administrative problems
• Create a workplace environment where staff is working toward the same essential goals and strategies; provide 2- way communication where ideas can he shared in a non-punitive environment.
• Provide effective communication process between administration, management, and staff, i.e., staff meetings, communication books, communication boards.
